EFS Group on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee

I am the Coordinator for the EFD Group on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee which my background in financial services sets me up perfectly for.  There is a great deal of legislation currently being discussed in committee which I feel, if passed, will be a serious detriment to the City of London which contributes 40% of the UK’s GDP.  I am worried that the over-regulation will force the financial industry out of the UK to far off places such as Hong Kong, Chicago, New York and Zurich.  In effect the EU is shooting the golden goose as the UK is 2nd to Germany as net contributors to the EU coffers.

Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee

I am a member of the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee, a committee which I served on for 5 years during my last term of office.

At the beginning of 2010 I got the chance to question the Commissioners-designate and you can see this on the videos below.

Environment Committee

I am a substitute member on the Environment Committee.  I have long been campaigning for public service broadcasting and other media outlets to be truthful and have an honest debate about “global warming”.  The public are not able to make an informed decision, unless they are doing their own research, because they are only being fed one side of the story by the media.  You will find speeches I have made in the parliament about global warming and the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen.  You will also find a number of interesting videos on my Goddersvision channel on Youtube.  Also take a look at the Global Warming/Climate Change page on my website here. 

At the beginning of December I organised a pre-Copenhagen Climate Conference which was held at the Royal Over-Seas League in London.  Professor Ian Plimer gave a thoroughly interesting presentation which can be viewed on the main UKIP website www.ukip.org.  I would counsel you to have a look at it so you can see for yourself that global warming and cooling is a naturally occurring process and has been for billions of years.  Also see my climate blog, the link to which can be seen on the home page.
